Odgens is an unspoilt
pretty hamlet in the North Western part of the New Forest. A tranquil area in
the heart of the New Forest yet only a short drive from Fordingbridge or Ringwood.
There is an excellent local equestrian centre (about 400yds away). Salisbury and
Bournemouth lay only about 20/25 minutes car drive away.
There are several
excellent pubs for meals in the vicinity most of which are
dog-friendly.There is also an award winning farm shop with
lots of local produce and a cafe in nearby South Gorley also
a nice tearoom in Hyde village.

This part
of the New Forest has an enormous diversity of landscape from heathery hills where
you can walk serenaded by the song of the skylark to open shades and wetlands
with many wild flowers. Ancient woodlands, valleys with babbling brooks, and bluebell
woods.
There is a multitude of rare and unusual birds and
a large variety of flora and fauna. A truly magical place.
On a cloudless night we have lovely dark skies ideal
for stargazing.
